Furballs Cat Rescue runs on people willing to take action—behind the scenes, in the community and on the front lines of rescue work. Every role directly impacts the cats in our care and helps us expand our ability to say “yes” to more animals in need.
We are currently looking to fill key roles across our organization and these roles are essential to keeping our rescue moving, growing and functioning at the level our mission demands.

Foster
We are building a network of committed, reliable, long-term fosters who want to make a real difference in the lives of cats in need. Foster homes are the foundation of our rescue and we are actively looking for people ready to step into this essential role.
We are introducing a more intentional way of fostering— designed to help both cats and fosters thrive. Ideal foster homes will have open, flexible space or a room that can be set up as a dedicated “foster room” (office, spare bedroom, basement, pool house, etc.) creating a calm, safe environment where foster cats can decompress, grow and prepare for adoption.
We provide everything needed to succeed, including supplies, veterinary care and ongoing support from our team. Our goal is to remove barriers for fosters while ensuring every cat receives consistent, high-quality care in a stable home environment.

Are these paid positions?

All roles are currently unpaid and volunteer-based, as we are a small 501c3 nonprofit. Our work is driven by purpose, passion, and community impact.
As our organization grows, some rescue team roles may have the potential to become compensated in the future, though this is not guaranteed.
How much time do board/rescue team roles require?

Board roles are a low time commitment and typically involve one meeting per month, with occasional support outside of meetings.
Rescue team roles are more hands-on and usually involve weekly or ongoing involvement, depending on the role.
What if I don’t know where I fit yet?

How long is a typical foster commitment?

Most of our fosters are long-term and care for cats until they’re adopted. This provides stability and helps cats settle, decompress, and thrive.
Do I need prior rescue or cat experience?
